Having lived in the community for nearly 5 years, Connie has not only adapted to her new life but has also created a vibrant, fulfilling routine.
When she first moved to Willowbend, her days centered around caring for her husband, Ken, who lived with dementia before unfortunately passing away in December 2024. Connie often describes dementia as living in a bubble, emphasizing the significance of their daily interactions.
Since her husband's passing, Connie has continued to spread her energetic, magnetic, and vibrant energy throughout the community. Her commitment to building a loving environment is evident in everything she does. From engaging in activities like pool, darts, and painting to initiating popular Bingo and Card events and even managing the community Tuck Shop, Connie believes that staying active is key to fostering connections and happiness within the community.
Her philosophy is simple yet profound: "You can create your own happiness. If you want to be happy, you will". Connie's story serves as a reminder that even in challenging circumstances, involvement, engagement, and positivity can lead to joy and fulfillment to not only yourself but others around you.
